About Us

You will receive a warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Our intention is for you to feel at home and comfortable during your stay with us.

We are very happy for guests to stroll around the farm, there is a river running through with plenty of wildlife to see. We have on the farm kingfishers, herons, various ducks, owls, woodpeckers plus numerous other birds, deer, badgers, rabbits and hares etc.

We are available to help and advise guests on any sites or activities they are interested in. (see Local Area) We have golf available nearby at Wheathill and Yeovil and Riding near Somerton. Own horses may be accommodated.

Guests are welcome to bring their own (well behaved!) dogs. Our own dogs are very friendly and welcome other canine guests.

We have a list of recommended places to eat in the area and we are pleased to make bookings if you require, all within five to fifteen minutes drive.

Please note that Cary Fitzpaine is a non-smoking house.

It is always our intention for guests to feel they are from home to home, we are on hand to help with any queries and to do all we can to make your stay an enjoyable and comfortable one.

The property is in an idyllic setting “far from the madding crowd” surrounded by lovely countryside. The hosts are very hospitable, relaxed and easy-going, inviting me to make myself at home. I could come and go as I pleased and there was no sense of needing to vacate the house or grounds each day. Everything was tip-top quality and the attention to detail was remarkable. There is a very comfortable lounge and splendid gardens with outside furniture. Wonderfully peaceful. Breakfast is served in a fine dining room and is lavish with a full menu as well as a bowl of fresh fruit. All in all you want for nothing and in summary it just could not have been better.
